Board approves County Line Road resurfacing, work begins September 2

Two-week closure expected between Miller Rd and the township line; detour signage will route traffic via Fairview Ave.

The Town Board voted 4–1 Tuesday to award the resurfacing contract to Redfield Paving, with work scheduled to begin the day after Labor Day and wrap by mid-September, weather permitting.

Supervisor Dale Renner said the project addresses the worst stretch of frost heave the township has seen in a decade. "We've been patching that section for three summers running," Renner said. "This gets it done right."

Residents along the affected stretch will receive a mailed notice with specific closure dates. Questions can be directed to the Road Department at the number listed below.

About Ashford Corners

Ashford Corners was settled in 1841 where two stagecoach roads crossed, and the township has grown slowly and deliberately ever since — roughly 1,300 residents today across 34 square miles of Cedar County farmland. The Board of Trustees meets the second Tuesday of every month, and this front page is where the township posts what residents actually need to know, updated directly by staff.
